Path of Exile - About Re-balancing the Worst Attribute

We have been playing Path Of Exile for a while now and are proud to recommend the best place online to poe orbs buy for the lowest price. That's true, and yet there's still two huge problems there. Aboout GGG has some plans for rebalancing in mind. Today, we are sharing with you player thoughts that we found on the POE forums.

1) I use Dex! In order to block a shitty suffix before I slam an item, but yeah.

2) I really wish Dex gave something useful. Most of the time when I path through the tree, I pick one that has a little strength node because hey life.

But dex? I don't even care about the Dex as a dex character. Even with all the dex I have in tree, I still need to have a flat accuracy item somewhere in my gear.

3) I just want to point out that if you're going to say ES is "life", you can't really simultaneously argue that strength isn't useless for those CI/LL casters, nor argue that the ES/Mana from INT isn't useless for strengthy-melee types or evasion-y right side-y types that don't stack ES, and usually use mana leech to sustain spell costs.

4) This item, whilst hard to acquire, is absolutely in reach for anyone with a level 85 or higher character.

250 chaos is the price - that just means casually running a hundred maps or so. That's a fair bit of investment and probably takes ten play sessions for a more casual mapper, but this item is nothing like a Headhunter, a six-linked endgame unique or the other items that take dedicated trading or running thousands of maps to save for.

If you play enough to hit level 20 gems, you will naturally find around a thousand chaos in mixed currency/6S drops.

Three Places You Do Not Know in PoE 3.1 Farming!

Path of Exile is a free-to-play online action role-playing video game developed and published by Grinding Gear Games.One of the key aspects of playing the popular ARPG Path of Exile (POE) is grinding, also often referred to as farming. This process involves taking your character to a certain area of the game where you can kill the same creatures on a continuous basis to gain as much experience and loot as you desire. In the case of Path of Exile Farming, there are three areas in particular where you should head to grind your character.

ACT I – The Ledge
The Ledge is the best place for you to start farming for Act I. Towards the end of the first Act, you’ll find The Ledge inhabited by Cannibals, Rattling Bones and Ancient Archers for you to kill repeatedly, and they are pretty easy to do so. Not only that, but killing them will also earn you an impressive amount of EXP. As far as gaining new equipment is concerned here, you can also find Rare Mobs which are capable of providing you with useful equipment for your character at such an early stage.

 

ACT II – Fellshrine Ruins
Going forward into Act II, you’ll want to find Fellshrine Ruins to continue grinding. The several enemies here shouldn’t cause you too much trouble bar the Hulking Titan, and that is only based on its high HP and strength, which shouldn’t be that hard to deal with if you’re a melee character. Ultimately, your goal is to kill blue and yellow mobs throughout, and it will be especially relevant in this area, so prepare for your inventory to fill up pretty sharp here. For access to the Fellshrine Ruins, you will need to enter the Church Portal. While you’re here, you can raid The Church given that the two are connected, just for some additional EXP and loot if you fancy it.

 

ACT III – The Docks
The third area you’ll want to head to is The Docks in Act III, which can be found via the Battlefront exit. Here, you will find a location that has both higher and lower paths which you can check out. However, this area houses the Voidbearer, who presents a rather difficult challenge. Therefore, you may want to hang on until you reach level 60 before you start farming at The Docks. You’ll find plenty of undead pirates here too, so if it’s elemental resistances you’re after, you’re in the right place.

 

Act III in particular is a great place for farming, and there are honorable mentions to other places such as Marketplace and Lunaris for all your farming needs. But if the base need of experience and gear is what you require, then The Docks is your best bet.

 

Hopefully this guide has provided you with a few places to visit. When you want to push forward with grinding as much as possible and leave your exile strong enough to take the fight to whatever threat opposes you, you’ll be ready. Dear GGG, Please Remove Bisco's Collar From the Game in PoE

Due to the fact that Bisco's Collar's IIQ only applies to normal monsters the actual overall IIQ effect is much lower than the item states. It is currently estimated that Bisco's Collar is the equivalent of 22.5% IIQ in an unsextanted normal map.

When Jewels initially came out, the first thing i thought was "Hell, that will be hard to micromanage, so many item slots to think about", but little did i know, GGG already had something in store for us.

3 Leagues ago, they removed the Amulet Slot while mapping and gave us a Permanent Passive Bonus to Quantity and Rarity instead.

The buff is called "Bisco's Collar" (Wasn't included in the 2.6 Patch Notes and doesn't show up in the Buff section for some reason)

Last league, they "noobnerfed" it, so that people who have the currency to get a good roll can still get the unnerfed version and peasants who just happen to randomly find one can just go fuck themselves with their 62% roll.

This patch, they buffed it again, making it even rarer, giving scrubs less opportunity to cash in on the item.

Pros:

Continuity (Playing the same Amulet for 3 Leagues in a row makes me kinda feel at home, very wholesome experience)

You have one Amulet for all your mapping Chars (Don't you you hate it when one Build needs WED and the other Spell Dmg. + Cast Speed?)

Having an advantage over people who think that Bisco's is "Not that great" (Although they are adorable)

Not having to look for good Rare Amulets (Something that always bothered me, nobody likes boring raw stats and minmaxing)

Still let people pretend that Bisco's is fine because Boss farmers don't use it. (Which we know are the majority of players, the Atlas and mapping in general is just there as a stress relief when you get tired of your Shaper and Lab Runs)

Being able to skip over other Unique Amulets in the Patch Note section (They are quite long, so that's definitely a buff!)

Being able to immediately dismiss mapping Builds that need a Unique Amulet to work

Reintroducing Increased Quantity POE Exalted orbs… Oh wait sorry, now THAT would be too strong! Support Gems are off-limits!

Cons:

Having to pick up more Currency.

Having to remove Rare Amulets from the Item-Filter AGAIN (Well, THANKS Neversink!)

At the end of the day, i can still replace Bisco's in my PoE for a Rare Amulet with Life, WED and Crit Multi, and look back at old times so i feel better about myself and pretend nothing happened.

Intel CPU Bug, Who Can Test the PoE Performance Impact of This?

So for anyone that doesn't know, recently two bugs with cpu's produced the last decade has been uncovered, named Meltdown and Spectre (not to be confused with the PoE spectres).

The bug potentially allows malicious software to gain access to privileged data from your computer, and can't be fixed with a microcode update to the cpu, so instead the fix has to happen on the OS itself. This OS patch has an impact on performance that has been up to 30% (although my latest sources shows it's no impact on gaming).

I'm wondering if anyone is planning to do some PoE benchmarks now, and again after getting the windows update to see what kind of impact it has (if any). I believe the windows patch is available manually somehow now, but will come through windows update on tuesday.

Also a warning: don't turn off windows updates to prevent this patch, since the cpu bug is extremely serious, so don't risk your computer because of a possible hit in performance.

That's a different vulnerability, called Spectre. Which is nowhere nearly as bad as Meltdown, the one that affects Intel alone. Spectre affects AMD, Intel and ARM. Meltdown affects Intel only.

Spectre is fixable with barely or no performance hits at all. Meltdown is the one that brings big performance downgrade in specific tasks.

 It's not a 30% overall cpu performance drop, it is just a performance drop in which time the cpu answears syscalls for user side applications that want to access something into kernnel memory, the patch makes the cpu wait for security checks it didn't wait to access kernnel memory before, games are not syscall heavy applications thus makes pretty much no difference for PoE.

Yeah usually, but that's not the case with PoE. PoE is way more reliant on CPU.

When and Why to Complete a Map in Path of Exile

The Atlas of Worlds is a visualisation of the dream worlds that are opened by activating maps, how these worlds are linked and the way they progress towards the centre. The Atlas is separated in four quadrants which can be entered through a tier 1 map, one in each corner of the Atlas. These tier 1 maps start dropping in Act 8. When the player progresses through the maps, their tiers - and difficulty - will increase. let’s discuss the pros and the cons to a completed Atlas.

If a Map is not complete it can only drop when running its adjacent and connected maps. However, once a map is completed, along with the 1% bonus to drops the map itself is added to your “Map Pool.” This means that it has a chance to drop regardless of your current maps location on the Atlas. When you run a map and another drops it’s layout is selected from A. Completed maps and B. maps connected and adjacent on the Atlas.

The theory behind not completing specific maps is generally based on two things. Either the map drops a rare item or Divination Card, such as “The Doctor” in the Spider Forest map or it has a layout that you enjoy or find efficient for your build/play style. If you don’t want a map to drop while you are farming do not complete it. If you would like to increase the chances of a certain map dropping, ensure that the map is one of the few maps in that tier you complete to reduce the maps in your “pool” of that tier.

Depending on what your personal goal with your Atlas is, you are either going to carefully plan your completion or just go for a full Atlas. Sitting somewhere in the middle ground with an incomplete, inefficient Atlas could result in you not only running maps with Bosses that result in death’s or layouts that are simply put, bad. My advice is to decide on your goal if you plan to map and stick with it as changing your Atlas later with currency can be extremely expensive.

Atlas Currency: Shaper’s Orb
Up next are one of the new types of items added specifically designed to interact with your maps, the Shaper’s Orb. There are 15 available and these are obtained by completing specific maps on the Atlas. The tier they are able to shape is equivalent to the tier of map they dropped from minus 5. The highest tier of Shaper’s Orb that can be obtained is tier 10 from tier 15 maps. You can speed up your rankings by buying Path of Exile orbs in the store.

The Shaper’s Orb “Shapes” a map upgrading it by 5 tiers. This allows you to cause lower Tier maps you enjoy running to drop with higher level monsters, providing more experience and higher item level loot. If the Tier 2 Map “Beach” is your jam, once shaped it will drop as a Tier 7 provided you are running maps Tier 5 and higher, the original Tier 2 Beach will effectively be removed from your pool. Using this to your advantage is what it means to “Shape” your Atlas and refine your map pool to remove unwanted maps.

Path of Exile Challenges: Why Now Is Your Best Time to Start?

Lot of people over the years have tried it on my recommendation and gave up before reaching Merveil because they felt it’s old, archaic, slow and clunky. Main complaints were mana running out too fast, inventory filling too fast, need too many wisdom and portal scrolls, combat slow and clunky, etc. Those who slog through the first two acts get totally addicted though.

But today, I’ll be talking about Path of Exile Challenges. It’s a difficult game to get into at first, but NOW of all times is the best time to start playing the game! Let’s get into it!

I’ll tell you one main reason why: an expansion released in August called The Fall of Oriath, which has completely revamped the game for the better. Grinding Gear Games added in a ton of new features, made improvements to the existing infrastructure and tweaked the storyline into something that makes much more sense.

Honestly, for any players reading this, this is the best time to get started with this game. I may have touched on the difficulties in getting started above, but keep reading, because the new expansion has addressed these issues I brought up earlier, and then some!

When You Need a Helping Hand
The first major enhancement to POE was the addition of a Help Panel, located in an unobtrusive, yet prominent area on the display, right next to your Mana Gauge. Opening it (which I recommend you do that either in town or after you’ve cleared an area of enemies!) allows access to a number of topics regarding everything POE. It includes Skill gems, the passive skill tree, currencies, character customization and anything else that you’ll run into during your adventures. The help panel unlocks new content as you progress, so it’s perfect for the first time player, since it lays out a simple explanation of how the game works in an easy to use interface and only give them the relative information they need to keep going without too much hassle. There is also a tutorial in the help panel that can also help first timers get acclimated to the world of Wraeclast.

Revamped Story and Gameplay
The next most significant changes made to the game were the removal of the Cruel and Merciless difficulties and the addition of six new acts (Acts Five to Ten). This turns POE into a genuine RPG with a continuous ten act storyline, as opposed to players replaying the first four acts a total of three times to advance further. Difficulty-centred quest rewards have also changed, for example, the rewards for the “Deal with the Bandits” quest in Act 2 has been reworked. The experience and resistance penalties from the removed difficulties have remained but now they are applied when players reach Acts Five and Ten respectively.

A POE planner tool has also been created to help players plan out their character’s progression, select their ideal equipment and create builds of their own, without having to experiment in game. The tool allows you to select a class, their ascendancy, a passive reward from the “Deal with the Bandits” quest in Act Two, 123 passive points and eight Ascendancy points, enough to plan out your build on the tree. Other tabs include selecting equipment for your build, your chosen aura and a final tally of what your build would look like at whatever point you are at in the game. It’s incredibly useful for players to use and experiment with different builds and items before applying them in game, making it all the more easier to get into it.

Expansion into Home Consoles
Working closely with Microsoft, Grinding Gear Games has now brought POE to the Xbox One home console. This gives players a new way to jump in on all the action from the comfort of their couch, all without the hassle of looking for a good gaming PC or laptop to play on. Now, I don’t own an Xbox One, so I can’t try it myself, but so far it has been well-received by the major gaming publications.

RMT Marketplaces
Our last note here revolves around Real Money Trading (RMT) Marketplaces. These places can help players jumpstart their game by selling in-game currencies and equipment for a minimal cost. Pricing for various currencies and items are at the best they’ve ever been, so it’s well worth it for the new or experienced player to look into.
